I love teaching bridge. I believe that this amazing game should be enjoyable as well as being stimulating, sometimes infuriating and always unpredictable.  It's the same as any game; the more you learn, the better the game is for you.

TINA McVEIGH is an acclaimed bridge teacher and author, who has represented NZ as a member of the national women's team. She travels frequently, teaching bridge to both new and experienced players within NZ and overseas.  Her Christchurch bridge club, House of Cards, established in 1999, is renowned for its high-quality teaching. Tina's unique teaching style is fun and highly interactive as is the simple user-friendly site, Sky Bridge Club, the brainchild of Tina and Graeme Tuffnell.
If you are new to the online game, Log in Here to join more than 9000 members worldwide as they play bridge online. You’ll enjoy learning new aspects of the game via video, audio or text lessons. You can also play against the computer, participate in competitions, or play live with your friends.
If you are an existing member, click on the king on the top left menu bar to go straight to the game.
Have fun playing bridge online, anywhere, any time.

Note from Tina

Happy New Year to all bridge players. Speaking from the shaky city of Christchurch, I must say that I am full of optimism for 2012 - both for the city and for bridge. Nothing like a game of bridge to take your mind off earthquakes!
The House of Cards is back to its full timetable and beginners' lessons start on February 3 at 9.30 am.

I have been actively involved in designing a new beginners' course for NZ Bridge. This will be available for all clubs around the country. The hands, which accompany the course, will be able to be played online very soon. The Bridge Book will also be adapted to follow the new course. Watch this column for details and in the meantime, enjoy your bridge.

Problem

West has opened a strong 1NT - 15-17. West leads the A, K and then the Q. Plan your play. How can you avoid losing two hearts and two clubs. Don't forget to take note of the auction! I will post the solution in a week or so.
